This kind of financial stress is exhausting, I’ve been there, and trust me if I must tell you my full story of what I have been through. From a 6 Figure business for a good number of years to losing absolutely everything. I had to liquidate my business and then declare myself insolvent.
Strangely that was the business I was in, helping people solve their debt problems and get out of debt and start a new life, and who thought it would have happened to myself.
By God’s Grace, I plucked up and started over. See God always has a bigger and better plan for us. I want to encourage you through my work and my platform to “Turn Your Money Story Around”.
It is not going to happen overnight, and it is a process. There is a distinct difference between being financially free and free from financial anxiety. When you are free from financial anxiety you can think clearer and then you can make the mind shift to get onto the road of financial freedom.
One of the first things we need to get clear in our minds and that is to let go of the fact that there is nothing wrong with money.
Many of us have been brought up around a culture, household, or religion that says things like:
“Money is the root of all evil.”
“Rich people are greedy or cheated their way to the top.”
“You can’t buy happiness.”
Honestly, these statements couldn’t be further from the truth. The notion that money is evil, or good or bad, is just nonsense. Money is not capable of having these characters. Money is simply a tool to exchange value.
Rich people are not bad either. There are people out there who abuse their wealth and use it for bad things and that is what make them different to those who are humble.
It is all about how you manage yourself and money!
At the same time, our hopeful outlook begins to attract even greater opportunities and we can move our plans forward quickly and effectively than we initially expected.
When you consciously release all doubts from your mind, you can use your sharp focus to seize the many opportunities that appear before you every day.
Get into a positive Zone and you will note the opportunities that may pass bay.
It is a matter of coming to learn that the word rich may mean something different to me than it does to you. The statement, I believe “you can’t buy happiness” is technically true, you can certainly obtain wealth that reduces your stress and anxiety. In some ways, buying happiness.
We will all have different definitions of rich, and of course mine will be different to yours.
May my words be of reference for you to, what I hope, encourage you to write your own meaning of the word “rich” or let’s change it to “Abundance”.
If I was rich, I…..
- Would have the freedom to choose how I spend my time
- Would have the time and resources to create incredible relationships
- Would provide a safe space for myself, my family, providing a home and lifestyle that isn’t constantly in fear of stability
- Would be able to support local artists, causes, programs, and charities that I believe in
- Would enjoy less stress and anxiety over how much I can serve or provide
- Would be able to give myself fully to helping others find happiness and self-worth
You will note that nothing about the list above is about needing more stuff or having tons of money. Come to think of it, money was not even mentioned. Does anything on the list above sound outrageous or selfish? I personally don’t think so.
Wealth for me is having abundance. So, let’s get past the idea that having money is bad. Financial Freedom and Abundance is good. It is all about how we use our finances.
I AM WORTHY OF FINANCIAL ABUNDANCE
You must change your dialogue!
Our internal dialogue is full of our own money beliefs. Perhaps they were designed through life experiences, or a concept of our personal worth. We must take charge of those personal thoughts. Once we can see what we believe about our money or our money story, we can move forward.
We must stop waiting for “A Knight in Shining Armor” to be our Savoir. When I talk about abundance, I talk about it through Biblical Principles. What the Word of God says about Abundance.
Forgive yourself for your past money mistakes!
YOU ARE WORTH OF ABUNDANCE!
When you think you are not enough of something, example, I am not smart enough to start a business or I am not talented enough for a specific job, that is our ego stepping into self-sabotage and block your abundance.
Know this –
And Jesus said, ‘The kingdom of God is like a man scattering seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows —he knows not how. The earth, by itself, produces first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. But when the grain is ripe, at once the man puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.’”
Mark 4:26-29
What does God say!
Going through periods of financial stress is an experience that most every human goes through. That doesn’t necessarily make it “normal” though. Just because many people experience job stress, divorces, and financial strains does not make them normal and it is not the life God desires for us.
During his ministry here on earth, Jesus painted a picture of what the Kingdom of God is like.
How many times have you prayed for more money, a better job, or financial breakthrough and felt like God ignored you?
Praying is like sowing seeds.
You scatter seed on the ground and wait and trust that the seeds will turn into a great harvest!
Praying for your finances is important. It helps us to recenter ourselves on the true purpose of our money and connect it back to God. But the harvest does not come immediately. There is no manifestation going on, and there are no magic words you can pray to unlock more blessings.
There is no “right way” to pray for your finances, except to simply sow seeds and let God do the growing.
The seeds you sow today will directly result in the kind of harvest you have tomorrow. What seeds are you sowing? Are you scattering any seed at all?
