Charm vs Charisma

Do We Need It and Where Do We Get It?

Leaving an impression

Each of us at least once met a woman who left an unforgettable impression in our memory. She was not necessarily beautiful, but definitely different from many others. She was hard to forget. We felt comfortable and welcome in her company, we wanted to prolong the moment of connection with her and that very special pleasant impact her presence had on us.

Who of us would not want to be one of those unforgettable women, leaving a trace of charm, warmth and exclusivity behind? Who of us would not appreciate a complement on our elegance, interpersonal skills and charisma?

What makes us charming and what constitutes charisma? It is our appearance and natural beauty, or a very special skill of expressing ourselves that we possess?

Do charm and wit, poise and self-assurance make us charismatic? Or, what do we lack to be called that charismatic woman, who possesses the magnetic power of attracting admirers and leaving forever indelible impression in the hearts and minds of others?

Are charm and magnetism inborn qualities, or can they be learnt, developed and perfected?

Undoubtedly, charm is the quality that we can acquire in life. Charm is a skill of expressing ourselves in a positive and uplifting way. It is the touch of our smile that reaches out, the happy energy that we ooze, and our emotional appeal that makes others feel good in our company. Our positive energy is our biggest magnet, much more powerful that the natural beauty…

Charisma. Invisible at the first glance and one of the least understood personal qualities, charisma is the culminating point of personal and magnetism and influence. The meaning and perception of charisma varies. To some – charismatic quality is mystical and given by the bigger power. To others – it is a personal skill of making an unforgettable impression, arousing loyalty and admiration, inspiration and respect; it is a product of persistent and tireless work on creating our own image.

So, if you are to embark on the path of finding your charm and charisma, where do you start? Which qualities are you to master along the way?

  • One of the major qualities is self-confidence and self-assurance, fulfilled dreams and goals we strive to achieve. Only this absolute belief in ourselves, confidence and determination can impact the others, making them believe in us and what we do. Our emotional energy and poise, strength and aspiration will arouse enthusiasm and admiration, support and respect in others.
  • That very empathy that we always value in others towards us, the ability and desire to listen and understand the counterpart is an ingredient part and one of the defining characteristics. Look into other’s eyes, establish eye contact and build trust in your interlocutor.
  • Feminine and friendly, has excellent manners, a mastered skill of self-bearing, style and elegance, presenting herself with dignity and warmth.
  • Her knowledge and intellect, competency, ability to carry a conversation, being aware and interested makes us captivating and attractive.
  • The quality of communicating on a powerful and emotional level, our effective vocabulary, ability to reach out to the listeners makes us even more special.
  • She is intuitive and receptive; she notices the smallest detail and reacts adequately and with grace.
  • Her open smile always shines and makes those around her feel special.

Putting together these simple traits and working on your image will attract people around you; will make you feel better and more fulfilled.

Whatever we call this quality – charisma or charm – the benefit will be immeasurable. Accompanied by a compliment “She is charming’ or “She is charismatic” – the return will be immense, it will open new doors and take you places, expand your circles and create new opportunities and, most importantly, will make us feel great about ourselves.
